The Swinging Doors was established in May of 1981. Owners Bob and Barb Materne have turned a small pizza parlor into a huge restaurant that offers the best sports viewing in town. They started off as a beer and wine Tavern but in 1995 added spirits to the menu and had to drop the word "Tavern" from the original name, thus becoming The Swinging Doors. Although the front and back doors are no longer the saloon-style swinging doors and the Country feel is somewhat gone, the name is synonymous with great food and friendly, clean atmosphere. Along with the cocktails in 1995 came the ability to allow minors into the establishment and families were welcomed until 9:45pm nightly.
